The 5th Armored Cavalry Brigade released new details on Monday afternoon about the accident with armored vehicle on Ponta Grossa that left a soldier injured during the morning. According to the corporation, the military has a stable clinical picture, suffered a fracture in the leg and should undergo surgery to stabilize the wounds.

According to the official note, the accident happened while a team was boarding an armored vehicle in a board type vehicle, used for the transport of this type of vehicle.

During the procedure, the soldier carried out the beacon, guiding the movement of the armored vehicle during boarding. It was at this moment that the car ended up crashing into the military’s leg.

Soldier is stable and will undergo surgery

After the accident, the soldier was removed from the site to receive care at Hospital Universitário Regional de Ponta Grossa. According to the 5th Armored Cavalry Brigade, the soldier's clinical picture is considered stable.

The impact caused a fracture in the leg and, according to the army, the young man will undergo surgery to stabilize the wounds.

In a previous update published by BnT Online, information received during the service indicated that the 20-year-old soldier had been transported by aircraft after presenting fracture and bleeding.

The police said there was no run-in.

The 5th Armored Cavalry Brigade also made a number of clarifications about the circumstances of the occurrence. According to the institution, the soldier was not run over by the armored vehicle and did not have his leg crushed.

The corporation explained that there was a collision of the vehicle against the leg of the military while he was performing the beacon of the vehicle.

Another point clarified is that the military was not participating in a military exercise at the time of the accident. The incident occurred during the boarding activity of the armored vehicle for transport.

The Brigade also reported that there is no link between the activity or the military involved with the 13th Armored Infantry Battalion (13th BIB).

With the new official information, points of the dynamics that were not yet defined in the first information released after the occurrence was addressed are clarified. In the initial publication, the BnT had informed that the exact circumstances of the accident would still be clarified.

The soldier remains under medical care.
