7th of September changes traffic in Ponta Grossa Center; see blockages

The traffic in Ponta Grossa on September 7 will have changes and blockages in important roads in the central region because of the civic parade. According to the City Council, the first changes begin on Sunday (6), during the assembly of the official platform, and continue on Monday (7), when there will be a total ban on sections used by the celebrations.

The Municipal Secretariat of Citizenship and Public Security advises drivers to be aware of changes and, whenever possible, to use alternative routes during blockade periods.

Changes begin on Sunday

According to the Superintendence of Traffic and Road Safety, the interventions begin at 8am on Sunday (6), when the assembly of the official platform at the intersection of the Rua Augusto Ribas with the Avenida Vicente Machado, in the central region of Ponta Grossa, will begin.

During the work, there will be closure of the section in the Dr. Colares Street region with the Rua Augusto Ribas. The measure will be necessary to allow the assembly of the structure that will be used during the Independence Day celebrations.

Therefore, those who want to circulate through the Center during Sunday should be attentive to the signs installed on site and the directions of the traffic agents.

Streets will be completely blocked on Monday.

On Monday (7), the day of the September 7 parade, the transit scheme will be expanded. There will be total blocking of the roads used by the parade and of the respective crossings.

The main prohibitions will be:

Balduino Taques Street, between Almeida Penteado Street and Avenida Vicente Machado;

Avenida Vicente Machado, between the Viscount Street of Nacar and the Ermelino Street of Leon.

The blockages affect some of the main circulation corridors of the central area of Ponta Grossa and may cause changes in the flow of vehicles on nearby streets during the morning.

Transit must be cleared at noon

According to Prefeitura de Ponta Grossa, the total release of traffic is expected to occur at 12:00 p.m. on Monday (7), after the closure of the parade and the dispersal of the public.

Until the blockages are removed, the recommendation is for drivers to avoid, whenever possible, the roads near Avenida Vicente Machado and look for alternative paths to access or cross the central region.

The City Council also calls for increased attention to temporary signage and to the determinations of the agents responsible for the organization of traffic.

Those who need to move through the Center during the morning of the holiday should consider possible changes in the route and increased movement in the streets used as alternative routes.
