A woman is rescued from a private jail in the rural area of Sengés; her partner is arrested

A 47-year-old woman was located by teams of the Sengés Civil Police, in conjunction with the Municipal Civil Guard, after reports that she was being kept in private prison by her 49-year-old companion, in a residence in the rural neighborhood of Pinhalzinho, late Thursday afternoon (23).

According to the report, the situation began after the victim expressed the desire to end the relationship. The 49-year-old allegedly prevented her from leaving the property, keeping doors and windows locked and making threats with a 5.5-mm pressure rifle. The author also disabled the wifi and other connections of the internet and mobile network of the house, taking advantage of the distance of sixty kilometers to urban area, cutting off all and any communication of the victim.

After receiving the complaints, the teams went to the residence and found the woman crying and frightened. She reportedly reported that she was afraid of her companion and that she had been threatened with death, and kept in prison for more than a day.

During the investigation, officers located a pressure rifle, as well as black powder and fuses.

The man received a voice of arrest and was referred to the Police Station of Sengés for legal action, where he was charged with the crimes of threat and de facto charges against women, and private prison.

The defendant is imprisoned in the Public Chain of Sengés.
