A youth is arrested for attempted qualified homicide against his own father-in-law in Castro

The Civil Police of Castro complied on Monday afternoon with a pre-trial arrest warrant against a 19-year-old man, who was investigated for the crime of attempted felony homicide against his father-in-law. The measure was carried out after investigations into an attack that occurred on August 15, 2026 in the municipality.

At the time, during a family fraternization, a discussion began between the suspect and the wife of the victim, involving a three-year-old child.

During the disagreement, upon realizing that the man was advancing with the intention of assaulting his wife, the owner of the residence intervened to protect her. At that moment, the individual pulled out a knife that he carried around his waist and struck the victim several times, hitting him mainly in the regions of the abdomen, face and neck.

The victim suffered serious injuries, including intestinal evisceration, requiring emergency relief from the SAMU and hospitalization. After the attack, the suspect escaped from the scene.

In the face of the facts, the delegate Marcondes Ribeiro represented the preventive arrest and house search and seizure, with the aim of removing the aggressor from the streets and also seizing the weapon used in the crime.

The warrant was carried out yesterday afternoon, in the Samambaia Garden, in Castro.

After the execution, the prisoner was taken to the public prison of the municipality, where he will remain in custody.

The PCPR requests the collaboration of the population with information that helps in the elucidation of crimes. Complaints can be transmitted anonymously by the phones 197, of the PCPR, or 181, of the Disk-Complaint. In cases of flagrante or crime in progress, the Military Police must be triggered by the phone 190.
