Accident between truck and car leaves man in serious condition on BR-277

A serious accident on the BR-277 in Balsa Nova left a 55-year-old man seriously injured early Wednesday afternoon. The incident was recorded at around 12:00 p.m., at km 150.5 of the highway, and involved a cargo vehicle and an automobile.

According to information from the Federal Highway Police (PRF), the two vehicles were traveling in opposite directions when a side collision occurred. The circumstances that led to the accident have not been detailed so far.

The victim suffered serious injuries

After the collision, teams from the Via Araucária dealership were triggered and provided the first services to the victim still at the site of the accident.

Due to the seriousness of the injuries presented by the 55-year-old man, it was necessary to mobilize a specialized team to carry out the transport to a hospital unit.

The Air Operations Battalion of the Fire Department participated in the service and carried out the air rescue of the victim. The man was taken to a hospital in the area, where he received medical attention.

No updated information was released about the health status of the victim after arriving at the hospital unit.

The Federal Highway Police was also on the stretch to attend the occurrence and guide the drivers who passed through the place.

The accident occurred at km 150.5 of BR-277, in Balsa Nova, municipality of the Metropolitan Region of Curitiba. By involving a cargo vehicle and requiring the presence of emergency teams, the occurrence mobilized different attention agencies.

So far, no information has been released about possible prolonged road interdictions or about injuries in the cargo vehicle.
