ACGF brings over 1,300 fans to the gym and nears semifinal of Paranaense

The ACGF Ponta Grossa/Grupo Gerencial is experiencing a decisive moment in the 2026 season and counts on an important reinforcement outside the four lines: the cheerleading end-of-the-line. In the last two games played at the Oscar Pereira Gymnasium, for the eliminatory phase of the Paranaense Futsal Championship Série Bronze, more than 1,300 fans attended to support the team, which is among the top eight of the competition and seeks a spot in the semifinals.

The public was registered in the matches against Ubiratã, for the round of 16, and Cianorte, for the first confrontation of the quarter-finals. The greatest presence took place in front of Ubiratã, when more than 700 people followed an exciting classification, won after a historic turn in penalties.

In addition to the mobilization in the stands, the performance on the court increases the expectation that Ponta Grossa will again play the Silver Series of Paranaense futsal.

ACGF beats Cianorte and is a semifinal draw away

The team from Ponta Grossa took an important step towards the next phase by beating Cianorte 5-1 at the Oscar Pereira Gymnasium in the quarter-finals’ first leg.

With the advantage built at home, ACGF/Generial need only one draw in the return match, scheduled for Saturday (October 24), at 7:30 pm, at the Tancredo Neves Gymnasium, in Cianorte, to ensure the qualification to the semifinals.

The confrontation is considered fundamental to the club's pretensions, which seeks to relocate the Ponta Grossa futsal in a top division of the Paranaense Championship.

In case of progress, the ACGF will have ahead the winner of the confrontation between Maringá Seleto and XV of November / Pinhão.

Torcida turns Oscar Pereira Gymnasium into a differential

The expressive presence of the fans has been pointed out by the technical committee as one of the positive factors of the campaign in the final straight of the Série Bronze.

For coach Wagner Kbça, the support of the stands strengthens the team and demonstrates the connection of the city with the sport.

"We are happy to see the gym full, I have no doubt that this positive atmosphere helps a lot in this final straight of competition. "More than wearing the ACGF shirt, we are proud to represent Ponta Grossa and honor the beautiful history the city has in futsal."

The board expects Oscar Pereira to receive at least two more games from the team this season, if the classification is confirmed.

In this scenario, the gym will host a confrontation of the semi-finals and another of the decisive phase, either for the title or for third place.

Club dreams of returning to the Silver Series of Paranaense

In addition to the classification, the ACGF/Gerencial campaign represents the possibility of repositioning Ponta Grossa in prominence in the state futsal scenario.

The president of the club, Paulo Sérgio Rodrigues, stressed the importance of the mobilization of the fans and the commitment of the athletes to the goals of the season.

"It was very nice to see the supporters back at the Oscars, believing and living with us the dream of the Ponta Grossa futsal back to the Paranaense Silver Series. Our cast is focused on pursuing classification and so we can do two more great games here at Ponta Grossa.”

The team, known as Lobo-Guará, seeks to maintain the good performance presented in the knockout matches to continue in the access dispute.

Preparation for the decisive confrontation takes place in Ponta Grossa

ACGF/Gerencial conducts the last trainings before the match against Cianorte in alternative locations in the city.

Due to the realization of the Jogos Estudantis of the Municipal Schools (JEEM) in the Oscar Pereira Gymnasium, the adult cast uses the gym of the CIE Sabará and the Core Brazil Academy, located in the Vila Estrela, for the preparatory activities.

The delegation is expected to travel to Cianorte on Friday (23), where it will be concentrated until Saturday’s departure.
