After 13 hours of waiting, pregnant woman is transferred and gives birth in Ponta Grossa

A pregnant woman transferred to Ponta Grossa after about 13 hours of waiting for a definition of childbirth gave birth to the little Heitor Guilherme Godoi Veigant, through a cesarean section. The mother, Thalys de Lima, 28, was waiting for care at Hospital Universitário Materno Infantil (HUMAI), known as Hospitalzinho. The family looked up the BnT Online report on Saturday (24), worried about the delay and the lack of vacancies.
Thalys's amniotic bag ruptured shortly after midnight on Saturday. By the ninth month of gestation, she was experiencing severe pain and contractions while awaiting a definition of childbirth.
In the complaint sent to the portal, the pregnant woman also reported difficulties in getting to the hospital. According to her, before the unavailability of an ambulance of the Mobile Emergency Service (Samu) at that time, she had to use a car per application.
During the wait at HUMAI, Thalys reported that she was receiving medical follow-up, including evaluations of the baby’s heartbeat and medications to prevent possible infections.
Vaga was found on Saturday night
After family members searched for BnT Online to report the situation, a vacancy was found on Saturday night (24), allowing the transfer of the pregnant woman to perform the delivery.
Thalys underwent a cesarean section and gave birth to Heitor Guilherme Godoi Veigant. The birth brought relief to the family, which had gone through moments of concern in the face of the long wait.
The case mobilized family members, who sought the press to give visibility to the difficulties faced during the care.

The episode also draws attention to the availability of vacancies in the Ponta Grossa obstetric care network. HUMAI, linked to the State University of Ponta Grossa (UEPG), is one of the reference units in maternal and child care in the region.
