The federal deputy Aliel Machado (PV) participated on Monday (26), in an ordinary session of Câmara Municipal de Ponta Grossa, where he used the gallery to present a balance of federal investments destined for the municipality. During the speech, the MP highlighted ongoing projects, announced prospects for new actions and reinforced the importance of dialogue between different political forces after the second round of the 2026 elections.

Received by Mayor Julio Küller, Aliel stated that he chose to return to the municipal legislature only after the electoral process closed. According to him, the intention was to be accountable to the population and renew the commitment to the development of Ponta Grossa and the region of Campos Gerais. “I waited until the end of the election to come back here so I wouldn’t be an opportunist. And also to renew our commitment to dialogue," he said.

The MP also argued that the partisan differences should not prevent the construction of public policies and the search for investments for the municipality. "When the election is over, we need to forget the disputes and honor what the population has given us as a mission," he said.

Health is a priority for investments

One of the main issues addressed by Aliel Machado was the expansion of the public health structure of Ponta Grossa. The deputy highlighted the construction of the new hospital universitário, the implementation of a polyclinic and the strengthening of specialized services. According to the parliamentary, the new hospital under construction should have 260 beds, including 60 of Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and 20 beds of neonatal ICU. The forecast mentioned by him is of completion in approximately two years.

Aliel also stated that there is a forecast of an increase of R$ 10 million per month in the cost of high-complexity services, resources considered fundamental to ensure the functioning of the new hospital structure. Another highlight was the advancement of the municipal polyclinic project. According to the deputy, the City Council recently published the tender notice for the implementation of the unit, which should expand the offer of specialized consultations and examinations.

The proposal seeks to reduce the repressed demand for procedures and facilitate the access of the population to health services. The parliamentarian also mentioned the functioning of the new high-complexity maternity hospital in the Santa Casa of Misericórdia, intended to attend to pregnant women and newborns who previously needed to be referred to other cities. In addition, he cited the planned opening of a new rehabilitation center in February, with specialized care for people with different types of disabilities.

New Federal Institute and investments in education

In the educational area, Aliel highlighted the political articulation to ensure the implementation of a new Federal Institute unit in Ponta Grossa. According to him, the achievement represents not only the expansion of access to technical and professional education, but also an opportunity for economic development. The deputy stated that the structure could count on approximately 130 professionals, among teachers and technicians contested, in addition to contributing to the training of qualified labor.

For Aliel, the presence of a federal educational institution also represents a differential in attracting new industrial enterprises to the municipality. The parliamentarian also mentioned investments of R$ 14 million destined to the State University of Ponta Grossa (UEPG) for the acquisition of equipment aimed at research and laboratories. It also highlighted the authorization for the construction of a new block of Chemical Engineering at the Federal Technological University of Paraná (UTFPR).

Infrastructure, housing and agribusiness were also addressed

During the accountability, Aliel Machado highlighted investments aimed at paving neighborhoods and villages of Ponta Grossa, in addition to the articulation to obtain recursos federais aimed at urban infrastructure. The deputy mentioned the funding requested by the City through Finisa and resources for paving that, according to him, include more than a dozen communities. Another project mentioned was the construction of a new storage structure of the National Supply Company (Conab), with investment of approximately R$ 50 million from Itaipu Binacional.

As explained, the venture should contribute to the storage of agricultural production and offer better negotiating conditions to rural producers. In the housing, the parliamentarian highlighted the resumption of ventures of the program Minha Casa, Minha Vida in Band 1, aimed at families of lower income. Aliel also cited the renewal of the Samu fleet, the increase of transfers to public services and the investments made in assistance entities of the municipality.

Member highlights social programs and attendance to the population

The speech also addressed the scope of federal programs in Ponta Grossa. According to the numbers presented by the deputy, more than 40,000 people were served by the Popular Pharmacy program in the municipality in 2026. Aliel also said that more than 5,000 students benefit from the Halffoot program, a federal initiative aimed at staying young people at ensino médio.

In the area of health, the parliamentarian highlighted the services provided by mobile units of care. According to him, the ophthalmology cart performed more than two thousand cares in Ponta Grossa. The deputy reported that the Municipal Secretariat of Health also requested support to make a dental cart viable.

Airport and new demands enter the priorities

Addressing the challenges that still need to be addressed, Aliel Machado pointed to the Ponta Grossa airport situation as one of the issues that require new articulations. Although progress has been made, it is still necessary to discuss strategies to solve difficulties related to the location of the airport structure. Another theme mentioned was drainage in the region of BR, where works carried out with investments from Itaipu Binacional would have contributed, according to its assessment, to reduce flooding problems.

The MP also acknowledged that the city still has significant demand for paving works and improvements in public services.

Aliel advocates dialogue between governments after elections

One of the main political messages of the pronouncement was the defense of a joint action between the federal, state and municipal governments, regardless of party differences. Aliel stated that she maintains a dialogue with prefeita Elizabeth Schmidt and that the institutional relationship will continue to focus on finding solutions for Ponta Grossa. The deputy stressed that his office in Brasilia remains available to receive claims from the councilors and to forward demands from the communities.

According to him, parliamentary action must combine political independence, oversight and collaboration with initiatives that bring benefits to the population. “I have always maintained dialogue. I have always maintained respect for the municipal administration, having the autonomy to criticize what I do not agree with, but helping in what is important for our city," he said. During the demonstration, Aliel also thanked the more than 118,000 votes received in the election and reaffirmed the commitment to continue representing Ponta Grossa in Brasilia.

At the end, the mayor, Julio Küller, thanked the deputy for his presence and recognized the importance of the interlocution with the municipal legislature.
