Alexandre Pires returns to be targeted by the Federal Police in operation against money laundering
Singer is among those under investigation in a new phase of Operation Disco de Ouro, which examines transactions exceeding US$ 48 million and suspicions of links to illegal mining on indigenous land

The singer Alexandre Pires was once again targeted by the Federal Police on Wednesday (23), during the second phase of Operation Golden Disc. The investigation investigates the actions of a criminal organization suspected of money laundering, ideological falsehood and other crimes related to international financial operations.
The investigation also points to possible links of the group with the financing and logistics of illegal mining in the Yanomami Indigenous Land in Roraima. Investigation involves more than $48 million
In this new stage, the Federal Police complies with 12 search and seizure warrants and 17 judicial orders for the seizure of assets and values, issued by Justiça Federal. The investigators identified evidence of movement and concealment of more than $48 million through Brazilian and foreign companies, international financial operations and third-party accounts.

According to the investigation, the scheme would have used different natural and legal persons to distribute the resources, making it difficult to identify the origin and destination of the money. The operation also detects possible irregularities in the marketing and export of ores, including the use of false documents to give the appearance of legality to financial and commercial operations.
Cantor had already been a target of operation in 2023
Alexandre Pires had already been targeted by the Federal Police in December 2023, during the first phase of Operation Golden Disc. At the time, the agents carried out searches and seizures during a cruise in which the artist performed, in the Santos coast, in São Paulo.
The investigations identified a transfer of at least R$ 1 million from a miner investigated to an account linked to the singer. The artist’s businessman, Matheus Possebon, was also investigated and was even arrested preventively during that stage of the operation.
The investigation originated in an investigation that began in January 2022, after the identification of approximately 30 tons of cassiterite allegedly extracted illegally from the Yanomami Indigenous Land.
What does the defense of Alexandre Pires say?
During the first phase of the investigation, in 2023, Alexandre Pires’s lawyers denied any involvement of the singer in mining or ore extraction activities on indigenous lands. The defense said at the time that the artist had been surprised by the inclusion of his name in the investigation and denied that he had committed any irregularity.
Adefesa was sought again on Wednesday (23), but had not yet presented a statement on the new phase of the operation until the last update of the report, at 11:29. The investigation is ongoing, and the condition of being investigated does not mean that the singer has been found guilty of the crimes investigated.
