Angel Torres undergoes surgery and misses Operário's season
Striker Angel Torres, wearing Operário's jersey number 7, had surgery on his meniscus and will miss the Fantasma for the rest of the Série B.
The attacker Ángel Torres, shirt 7 of the Operário Ferroviário, underwent surgery on the meniscus on Sunday (27), at the São Camilo Hospital, in Ponta Grossa. The player has already been discharged from the hospital and has started the recovery period at home, as updated by the club on Monday (28).
The injury occurred at the end of the training before the confrontation against Ceará. Examinations indicated a rupture in the medial meniscus of the right knee, a situation that required surgical procedure.
With the need for surgery and the recovery period, Ángel Torres should no longer act for the Worker in the 2026 season and turns off for the final straight of the Brazilian Serie B Championship. The expectation is to return to the lawns only in 2027.
Ángel Torres arrived at the Worker in early August, on loan from Dynamo Kiev. The Colombian quickly gained a foothold in the roster and played eight matches with the Alvinegra shirt, adding one goal and two assists.
The absence of shirt 7 happens precisely in the decisive phase of Serie B, at which time the Phantom disputes important positions in the table. Without Torres, the Luizinho Lopes coach has other alternatives for the offensive sector, including Maxwell and Aylon.
In a note, the Worker said that the attacker received all the necessary care after the surgery and will follow the recovery process at home.
