Anvisa blocks sale of weight-loss pens containing tirzepatida and retatrutida without registration

The National Agency of Vigilância Sanitária (Anvisa) on Wednesday ordered the seizure of products subject to vigilância sanitária for sale on the site – including retatrutide, tirzepatide, popularly known as slimming pens.

The decision also applies to the products Retatrude 120 mg, Retatrude 60 mg, Tirzepatide 150 mg and Tirzepatide 75 mg, marketed on the page, under the responsibility of ZPH Accounting.

The measure also affects products with tirzepatide and retatrutide, without proper registration, marketed through an electronic address, in addition to items sold through the oxygenkwpharmabrasil website, including Retagen 40 mg (retatrutide).

In a note, Anvisa informed that the products can not be manufactured, imported, distributed, disclosed or used.

“The measure aims to prevent the use by the population, on the basis of the health risk arising from the availability for consumption of products without proof of regularity, quality, safety and effectiveness.”

Without authorization

The resolution of Anvisa also prohibits the following products, advertised and sold by company of unknown origin:

NAD+ Liberty Pharma

Liberty Pharma Retatrude

Glow GHK - Cu Liberty Pharma

Tirzepatide Liberty Pharma

GHK - Cu Liberty Pharma

It is worth noting that retatrutide, which is sold on the internet, is a substance that has not yet been registered in any country in the world. This is because the company that develops the studies on the drug has not even applied for registration with Anvisa or any international regulatory agency.”

Therapeutic claims

Finally, the publication also affects several products manufactured by the company Cris Barden Naturopatia Ltda. which, according to Anvisa, do not have registration, notification or registration.

“Items are disclosed with claims related, among others, to antifungal, antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, pain relief, deworming, detoxification and strengthening of immunity, i.e., drug-compatible purpose.”
