Armed Man with Axe and Scythe Threatens Family and Escapes from Police in Ipiranga

An incident of domestic violence mobilized the Military Police on Wednesday afternoon in the locality of Avencal, in Ipiranga, near the Church São João.

At about 3 p.m., the team was triggered via 190. At the scene, the police found the victim waiting on the public road. According to the report, the author came home quite aggressively and began a verbal discussion with the family.

The situation quickly worsened. The man began to utter serious threats and took possession of an axe and a sickle, threatening to attack his relatives. In fear, residents had to lock themselves in one of the rooms of the residence to protect themselves.

Before escaping, the assailant still caused material damage to the property, breaking the kitchen table and damaging the door to one of the bedrooms.

The rescue was only possible because the couple’s daughter was able to leave the house and ask for help at a neighbor’s residence, which triggered the police. Realizing that the PM had been called, the suspect fled in a vehicle and took an ignored course.

Faced with the risk, the police team provided support and transported the relatives to the town of Canguera, where they were sheltered in the home of relatives for security.

The victims received all the guidance on protective measures and the occurrence was recorded for the continuation of the legal measures.
