Black pepper on the first spray, tobacco soon after and a vanilla and amber bottom that stays on the clothes. This is how most reviews describe Asad Lattafa, one of the most sought-after Arabic male perfumes in Brazil in recent years. In Ponta Grossa and the rest of Campos Gerais, where cold nights occupy much of the year, this dense profile finds favorable terrain.

The name helps to understand the proposal. Asad means lion in Arabic, a choice that combines with a full-bodied perfume, thought to be noticed closely.

Popularity has led to doubts. When to use, how much to apply, what to expect throughout the day and how to shop safely are the questions that most appear. The answers come next.

Notes and olfactory profile of Asad Lattafa

The disclosed pyramid has three well-marked layers. On top, black pepper, pineapple and tobacco. In the heart, patchouli, coffee and iris. At the base, vanilla, amber, dry wood, benjoin and labdanum.

Described like this, it looks like a lot. On the skin, the set is organized in two movements. The opening is spicy and slightly fruity: the pineapple appears as a quick glow, more sense than identified, while the pepper dominates the first minutes. Then, coffee and tobacco pull the composition to a darker and drier side, with patchouli giving a earthy texture.

The bottom is where the perfume spends most of the time. Vanilla and amber round everything, benjoin adds a resinous and sweet touch, and labdanum brings something warm, almost leathery. Those who like dry perfumes may find the end too sweet; those who like vanilla usually identify with this phase.

Tobacco deserves a parenthesis. In the perfumery, he rarely remembers lighted cigarettes. The effect is closer to the cured dry leaf, with some honey and hay, and usually comes accompanied by vanilla precisely to reinforce this sweetened side. Coffee follows a similar logic: it appears roasted and bitter for a short time, like a bridge between the spicy opening and the bottom.

In the usual classification, the Asad Lattafa is in the Eastern family, with amber highlighted, a family that mixes spices, resins and sweetened notes. It is not a pure woody or a gourmand of dessert. It is in the middle of the road, and that explains part of the interest: it pleases audiences who normally do not agree.

When to use: night, cold and events

The composition combines more with low temperatures. In the cold, the molecules evaporate more slowly, and the heavy notes of vanilla, amber, and resin become more contained, forming an aura close to the body. In the heat, the same structure expands, and what was cozy can become excessive.

For the Campos Gerais, the account is simple. Autumn and winter, spring nights and cloudy days combine well. In the afternoon of January in the center of Ponta Grossa, with strong sun, asks for something lighter.

The region calendar helps you visualize. Graduations, corporate holiday parties, weddings in event halls and the winter nights when everyone goes out of heavy coat usually receive a perfume of this type. The environment and the clothes accompany the density of the notes, and the vanilla stops sounding off-set as it would on a hot summer afternoon.

Occasion also counts. Dinners, parties, weddings at night and meetings in an open environment are the natural territory of this profile. Small office, office and public transportation require moderation, because vanilla and tobacco occupy the space fast.

This is not a rigid rule. Some people use the perfume of day, in winter, with a spray only, and the result is discreet. Adjusting the quantity solves a lot of the exaggerations.

A practical rule works well: if the occasion has low light and heavier clothing, the perfume tends to match.

Fixing and projection in practice

Asad is sold as eau de parfum, a concentration that usually has more aromatic oil than eau de toilette. This tends to keep the scent noticeable longer, but no number of hours is valid for everyone. Oily skin holds more than dry skin, wool holds more than cotton, and the amount applied changes everything.

The projection follows a recognizable pattern. In the first hour, with pepper and tobacco in evidence, the trail is wider. With the arrival of the bottom, the perfume approaches the skin and begins to be perceived mainly by those who are close.

A dense perfume like Asad Lattafa wears down the nose of the wearer before it wears down the nose of the ones around. In the doubt about whether you can still feel, it is worth asking the opinion of someone you trust instead of reapplying.

Two or three sprays are usually enough, on the neck, chest or wrists, without rubbing. Apply to hydrated skin helps retain notes. Spraying on clothing also works, as long as the fabric is not delicate, because vanilla and resins can mark light fabrics.

Testing on the paper tape helps to know the opening, but deceives the rest. The skin has its own temperature, oiliness and pH, and the vanilla and resin background only shows what it is after some time in the body. The honest test takes an entire afternoon.

Another point is usually overlooked. Keeping the bottle away from light and heat, outside the bathroom, preserves the top notes, which are the first to degrade over time.

Care when buying

High demand has a less pleasant side. On July 24, 2026, the National Agency of Vigilância Sanitária (Anvisa) published in the Official Journal of the Union resolutions prohibiting the manufacture, sale and dissemination of a product listed as "Arab Lattafa Asada" of 100 ml, of unknown manufacturer and without sanitary regulation, according to the Gov Agency. The measure targeted these products without identified origin. In a statement released to the press, the official importer of Lattafa in Brazil stated that the item cited in the resolution, engraved "Asada", is of an unknown manufacturer and improperly reproduces visual elements of the original perfume, and the resolution itself does not point to Lattafa as a manufacturer. The episode shows why provenance matters as much as notes.

Before opening the box, three conferences are sufficient: cellophane without clearance or apparent glue, the batch printed on the box equal to that of the bottle and, on the Portuguese label, the company name and address of the importer in Brazil.

Blurred printing, spelling error, loose lid or batchless box are reasons to be suspicious. In these cases, the most prudent is not to use the product and look for the seller.

Shop in a store that describes the complete pyramid and the concentration of each jar facilitates the conference on arrival. On perfumearabe.com, for example, the top, heart and background notes appear on the product page, which allows you to compare what was advertised with what arrived at home. Save the invoice completes the check and resolves any doubts later.

Ads on social networks without company name, without CNPJ and without service channel deserve distance, however beautiful the publication.

Asad Lattafa is expected to remain among the most cited names in the men’s Arab perfumery, especially in the cold seasons. For those who want to experiment, the path goes through three stages: knowing the notes, choosing the right occasion and checking the origin of the bottle before the first spray.
