Attorney denies Lulinha met with ministers
The attorney Marco Aurélio de Carvalho, who represents Fábio Luís Lula da Silva, known as Lulinha, stated that the relationship between the president's son and ministers was social. He also said he does not see any problem in the meetings. Three investigations at the STF are examining possible involvement of the lobbyist Roberta Luchsinger alongside Lulinha.

The lawyer Marco Aurélio de Carvalho, who defends Fábio Luís Lula da Silva, Lulinha, stated on Monday (19.out.2026) that the relationship of the son of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) with the ministers of his father's government was "social". The statement was made amid investigations that are being processed in the Supremo Tribunal Federal (STF) about the possible action of the lobbyist Roberta Luchsinger together with Lulinha to favor contracts with the Executive.
Marco Aurélio, who is also coordinator of President Lula's campaign, said he sees no problem in Lulinha's meetings with members of the government. “He went there [Brazil], stayed there, invited him to a social event. What’s the problem?” the lawyer asked.
Social relations and meetings with ministers
In the defender’s assessment, Lulinha’s contacts with high-ranking authorities do not constitute an irregularity. He pointed out that the businesswoman Roberta Luchsinger had ties with different political specters, which he said reinforces the normality of interactions.
“And, look, it is important to say that the businesswoman Roberta Luchsinger had relations even with ministers of the Bolsonaro government and with political leaders of various parties,” Aurélio reported. The speech suggests that the lobbyist was in multiple circles of power, which could relativize the suspicion of specific favoritism to the current government.

Investigations on Supremo Tribunal Federal
Currently, three investigations are underway in the STF to ascertain the possible performance of Luchsinger in partnership with Lulinha. The focus of the surveys is to verify whether there was favor in contracts signed with the Executive Power.
The procedures are derived from the No Discount operation, which investigates irregularities in membership discounts applied to pensions and pensions of the INSS (National Institute of Social Security). The operation detects possible frauds and deviations involving entities that administer these benefits.
Context of the No Discount operation
The No Discount operation targets schemes that would have caused losses to retirees and pensioners of the INSS. The investigations point to the improper collection of membership fees, often without the authorization of the beneficiaries.
Roberta Luchsinger is investigated in these investigations, and the possible connection with Lulinha led the case to STF, due to the privileged forum of the president's son. The defense denies any irregular participation of Lulinha in the facts determined.
Defense denies irregularities
Marco Aurélio de Carvalho has reiterated that Lulinha did not exercise public function and that his contacts with ministers were of a personal nature. For the lawyer, there is no indication that the president’s son acted as an intermediary of private interests with the government.
“What’s the problem?” he asked again, commenting on Lulinha’s presence at social events in the federal capital. The defense maintains that mere coexistence with authorities cannot be criminalized.
Next steps of investigations
The investigations continue under secrecy in STF, and there is still no decision on any indictments. Lulinha’s defense says it will collaborate with the investigations and trusts in the filing of the cases.
In the meantime, the debate on the boundaries between social relations and political influence remains at the center of the national agenda. The outcome of the surveys could bring new developments for the government and the close circle of President Lula.
