Birthday Parade Changes Traffic in PG Center

Drivers traveling through the central region of Ponta Grossa are expected to be aware of traffic changes on Monday (14) and Tuesday (15). The City Council said that there will be blockades of streets in the Center of Ponta Grossa because of the celebrations for the 203 years of the municipality.

The changes mainly involve the Avenida Vicente Machado and roads used for the city's anniversary parade. The guidance is for drivers to anticipate travel, use alternative routes and respect the signs installed at the interdiction points.

The first blockades begin on Monday.

According to the Municipal Secretariat of Citizenship and Public Security, through the Superintendence of Traffic and Road Safety (STSV), the changes begin from 1 pm this Monday (14).

At this first moment, the assembly of the official hoist at the intersection of the Rua Augusto Ribas with the Avenida Vicente Machado will be carried out.

Because of the works, it will be necessary to block the section of the Avenida Vicente Machado comprised between the Rua Dr. Colares and the Rua Augusto Ribas.

The lock precedes the structure that will be used during the official Ponta Grossa anniversary programming.

The parade will be completely blocked on Tuesday.

On Tuesday (15th), the date on which Ponta Grossa turns 203 years old, the bans will be extended.

From 7:30 am, there will be total blocking of the roads used for the parade, in addition to the respective crossings.

Prohibitions will occur in the following sections:

Balduino Taques Street: between Almeida Penteado Street and Avenida Vicente Machado;

Avenida Vicente Machado: between the Viscount Street of Nacar and the Ermelino Street of Leon.

During this period, the traffic of vehicles will be prevented in the sections used for the programming, guaranteeing safety to the participants, public and teams that will work in the event.

When will the traffic be freed?

The forecast of the Traffic Superintendent is that the total release of the roads will occur at noon (12h) on Tuesday, after the closure of the activities and the dispersion of the public.

The City Council advises drivers to look for alternative routes during the interdictions and to redouble their attention when driving in the vicinity of the central region.

Traffic agents will be at the affected points to guide drivers and assist in the organization of traffic during the Ponta Grossa anniversary celebrations.
