Boat Found on the Tibagi River, but Man Still Missing in PG

The boat that turned on Rio Tibagi in the Uvaia district region at Ponta Grossa was located by rescue teams on the afternoon of Tuesday (8). Despite the location of the boat, the 30-year-old man who disappeared after the crash has yet to be found.

Searches continue in the region, mobilizing teams of the Fire Department. The incident began after two men fell into the water during a fishing trip. According to information previously obtained by the BnT Online team at the site, the two were in a boat when the vessel ended up turning.

During the search operation, the teams were able to find the boat used by the two men. However, the missing person was not near the boat. The location of the boat reinforced the searches at nearby points and along the course of the Rio Tibagi, since the victim may have been carried by the current.

The river is with high level and strong current, which makes the work of the teams even more complex.

The other occupant of the boat, a 28-year-old man, managed to get out of the water after the accident. According to the report, he was organizing fishing materials when the other occupant moved to one end of the boat, causing the imbalance and causing the boat to turn.

After falling into the river, the 28-year-old managed to reach a residence in the area and ask for help. The 30-year-old was initially clinging to the boat but was eventually carried away by the current.

Searches continue

Firefighters are still working to locate the missing person. Samu was also activated to support the incident, and residents of the region collaborated in the first moments of the search.

Until the last update of this report, the man had not been located. There is also no official confirmation of death. The occurrence continues to be treated as disappearance.
