For the first time, the municipality of Castro hosted between September 4 and 6 one of the main motorboat competitions in the country. The Prainha region was the scene of the 2nd stage of the Brazilian JetSki Arena Championship, the 4th stage of the Brazilian Arrancadão Championship and the 3rd stage of the Brazilian Endurance Championship, all organized by BRJS (Brazilian Jet Ski). The event was the first time in the city, bringing together pilots from different states of the country on the banks of the Japó River.

The Boca no Trombone Portal report followed the event on Sunday afternoon. For the Secretary of Industry, Commerce and Tourism of Castro, Kasciano Roberto Morais, the event brings many positive situations when it comes to sports tourism.

"Sports tourism has been consolidating Castro in a state and also national scenario. It is a stage of the national Jet Ski ski. So it is a great news for Castro and it is something that attracts a lot of attention, not only from Castro, but from the whole region. And this is reflected in the part of economic development, in the part of hospitality, gastronomy and also in trade," Kasciano said.

About an upcoming edition, the secretary commented that "how is the first event will be evaluated. It is also very important to note that this is an event with the support of the State Government of Paraná. The largest amount is from the state government. Castro comes in as support. Then, for sure, after the event now, will be done the analyses, everything that worked out, that has to be adjusted too, to really see when it will be, if it will have another year next.

Successful

For the president of the BRJS, Carlos Cardeoli, the evaluation of the event in the municipality was positive. "It's an event that surprised us. The population came by weight. Even in the rain, everyone is there, the whole city is there. A pity, but suddenly a next stage next year will surely triple that point that was already very satisfying.”

Carlos scored on the organization of the event. "It is not us who choose the stages. They're the sponsors. The municipality made a letter of intent and that letter of intent we passed to the sponsors and they gave ok. And we brought it home. It was through the driver Marcos Barbosa, who insisted already a year ago, two years ago, wanting to bring the event to the city.
