Businessman is arrested in Ponta Grossa suspected of rape; six people reported

A businessman arrested in Ponta Grossa on Thursday (3) is investigated by the Civil Police of Paraná (PCPR) for a rape case that occurred earlier this year in the Boa Vista region. According to the Women’s Police Station, the 47-year-old man was identified during the investigations and has other records involving women’s complaints.
According to PCPR, the latest investigation began after an 18-year-old girl reported being approached in public by a man who, until then, was unknown to her.
According to the report presented to the police, the suspect had started a conversation offering a supposed opportunity to work as a babysitter. According to the investigation, he forced the young woman to enter his vehicle, where the sexual violence occurred.
Investigation reached the suspect
Initially, the Civil Police only possessed the physical characteristics of the man informed by the victim. The team of the Women’s Police Station then proceeded to carry out checks and diligences to try to identify the possible responsible for the crime.
According to PCPR, after a series of surveys, the investigators reached out to the 47-year-old businessman.
During the count, the team also identified that the same man had been indicted in 2020 in two police investigations conducted by the Ponta Grossa Women’s Police Station.
According to police, three victims made sexual abuse charges against him during that period. The man was subsequently denounced and convicted by the Justice and, according to PCPR, was currently being monitored by anklet.
Police cite other approaches in Carambeí
The investigation also pointed to two other episodes recorded in July of this year, in the city of Carambeí, in the Campos Gerais.
According to the Civil Police, two women reported having been approached in public by the investigator with an alleged proposal for employment as a babysitter, a dynamic similar to that reported in the Boa Vista case, in Ponta Grossa.
One of the complainants is a teenager. According to PCPR, the investigator offered money to the minor “in exchange for affection”.
Considering the records reported by the Civil Police — three whistleblowers in 2020, the 18-year-old who originated the current investigation and two other women in Carambeí — six women filed complaints involving the man.
Victim acknowledged investigated, says PCPR
According to the Women’s Police Station, the 18-year-old made the recognition of the suspect and pointed to him as the man responsible for the sexual violence reported earlier this year.
Given the elements gathered during the investigation, the delegate Cláudia Kruger represented the Justice for the pre-trial arrest of the businessman and for the issuance of a search and seizure warrant for the location of possible objects related to the facts investigated.
With the court orders issued, civilian police carried out the warrants on Thursday (3), in Ponta Grossa. The investigator was arrested and subsequently referred to the Public Chain.
The Civil Police are still responsible for the procedures related to the case.
