Camber of Castro approves project that creates the Municipal Day of Public Security

It was approved by the Câmara Municipal of Castro, on September 14, the Bill No. 113/2026, authored by the councilor Investigator Ricardo, which establishes the Municipal Day of Public Security, to be celebrated annually on April 21.
The proposal aims to establish a date on the municipal calendar to promote awareness of the importance of public safety, in addition to valuing the professionals who work daily in the protection of the population and strengthen the debate on actions and policies aimed at security in the municipality.
The initiative is part of a series of actions and proposals presented by the councillor in the area of public safety. Among them is the request that requests studies and measures for the construction of a new headquarters for the Castro Public Chain, considering the need for better structural and safety conditions for the operation of the unit.
Also among the initiatives is the application 153 Citizen, developed to expand and facilitate the communication of the population with the Municipal Guard, allowing the forwarding of occurrences and requests for care in a more agile way.
The councilman has also presented demands related to the Municipal Guard, seeking the strengthening of the structure, equipment and working conditions of the agents who act in the safety of the municipality.
“To institute the Municipal Day of Public Safety is also to recognize the importance of those who work daily for the safety of our population. It is an opportunity to broaden the dialogue, to value the professionals and to discuss improvements for Castro”, stressed the councilman Investigator Ricardo.
The project was approved by the Municipal Legislature and establishes April 21 as the official date for the celebration in the municipality.

Justification
According to the justification of the project, public security requires a permanent debate and integration between the Public Power, the security bodies and society. The institution of the date seeks to create a specific moment to promote awareness-raising actions, discuss public policies of prevention of violence and recognize the work carried out daily by professionals in the area.
The proposal also highlights the importance of strengthening and structuring the security bodies that work in the municipality, as well as the appreciation of professionals responsible for the protection of the population.
For the councilor Investigator Ricardo, the creation of the Municipal Day of Public Security represents an opportunity to keep the theme in debate and reinforce the importance of the union between the institutions and the community.
“Public safety must be constantly on the agenda. The creation of this date is a way to value the professionals who work daily for the population and, at the same time, promote awareness and discussion about prevention and public safety policies in our municipality,” said the councilman.
With the approval of Bill No. 113/2026, April 21st will be incorporated into the municipal calendar as a date for reflection, awareness and appreciation of public safety in Castro.
