Caminhada Outubro Rosa in Ponta Grossa gets new date after bad weather; see time

The Walk Outubro Rosa on Ponta Grossa gained a new date after being postponed due to weather conditions. Initially scheduled for last Saturday (24th), the mobilization will be held on Tuesday (27th October), with a concentration starting at 1.30 pm, in front of the Acoustic Shell, in the Blue Point, in the central region of the city.

Promoted by Rede Massa, with the support of Prefeitura de Ponta Grossa, the initiative seeks to raise public awareness about the importance of prevention, self-care and early diagnosis of breast cancer.

The program is open to the community and will include walks through the central streets, distribution of gifts, guidelines on health and educational activities.

The concentration of the participants is scheduled for 13:30, in front of the Acoustic Shell, in the Blue Point. From there, the group will follow the Ponta Grossa Boardwalk, with closure at the corner of the Terminal Central.

At the point of arrival, participants will be able to follow awareness activities and receive information related to the health of the woman.

The change of date does not change the main objective of the event: mobilize the community for the prevention and early identification of breast cancer, expanding access to information and encouraging health care.

The City Council reinforces the importance of prevention

The president of the Social Assistance Foundation of Ponta Grossa (FASPG), Tatyana Belo, stressed that the postponement does not diminish the importance of the mobilization and reinforced the invitation for the population to participate in the walk.

"The Outubro Rosa reminds us that taking care of yourself is also an act of love with those around us. Early diagnosis saves lives, and this message needs to reach all. We all wait for Tuesday,” he said.

The Outubro Rosa movement is held annually and brings together initiatives aimed at raising awareness about breast cancer. The campaign highlights the importance of knowing the warning signs, seeking medical attention in the event of breast changes, and performing screening tests in accordance with health recommendations.

Do you need a t-shirt to participate in the walk?

Participation in the Outubro Rosa 2026 Walk is open to everyone, even those who do not have the official event shirt.

Those who have removed the shirt before can wear it normally on the new date. The other participants are invited to wear pink clothes, symbolizing support for the awareness campaign.

The organization also encourages the presence of family, friends and community groups, strengthening mobilization around health and prevention.
