Campeonato Paranaense 2027 starts in January; see Operário's group

The 2027 Paranaense Championship will begin on January 6, and the Operário Ferroviário already knows the opponents that make up the competition's Group B. The definition took place on Tuesday (20), during a meeting between the 12 participating clubs and the Paranaense Football Federation (FPF), held at the headquarters of Sicredi, in Ponta Grossa. Current state two-time champion, the Phantom begins the next edition in search of another title.

The meeting brought together representatives of the teams of the first division to define the format of the dispute, which will follow the same model adopted in 2026. There will be two groups with six teams each, with clashes between members of different keys during the first phase.

The competition will be approximately two months long, with the decision set for March 7, 2027.

Worker is in Group B of Paranaense 2027

The Operário Ferroviário will have as group companions Coritiba, Paranavaí, Cascavel, Foz do Iguaçu and Azuriz. Despite being in the same key, these teams will not face each other during the first phase, as the regulation establishes matches against the clubs of the other group.

Check out the division:

Grupo A: Athletico, Paraná Clube, Londrina, Maringá, Cianorte and São Joseense.

Group B: Coritiba, Operário Ferroviário, Paranavaí, Cascavel, Foz do Iguaçu and Azuriz.

With this organization, the Phantom will have ahead, in the first phase, Athletico, Paraná Clube, Londrina, Maringá, Cianorte and São Joseense.

The presence of the Worker among the participants also reinforces the prominence of Ponta Grossa football on the state stage. The city hosted the meeting that defined the main details of the 2027 edition.

What will be the contest of the Paranaense Championship 2027?

The first phase will have six rounds. Each team will once face the six opponents of the opposite key, adding points to define their position in the group itself.

At the end of this stage, the first four of each key will advance to the quarter-finals, totaling eight classifieds.

The clashes will be organized as follows:

1st place of Grupo A x 4th place of Grupo A;

2nd place of Grupo A x 3rd place of Grupo A;

1st in Group B x 4th in Group B;

2nd in Group B x 3rd in Group B.

The quarter-finals will be played in round-trip matches. The same format will be used in the semi-finals and in the big decision of the State.

In this way, the Worker will need to finish among the four best of Group B to continue in the fight for the consecutive three-time championship.

When does Paranaense 2027 start and end?

The start of the 2027 Paranaense Championship is scheduled for Wednesday, January 6. The final is already scheduled for March 7.

The schedule will again be shorter, requiring clubs to face a concentrated sequence of matches early in the season.

The competition will also coincide with other disputes in Brazilian football. The Brazilian Cup is expected to begin on January 6, while the Série A of the Brazilian Championship will begin on January 27.

For Operário Ferroviário, the State represents the opportunity to defend the titles won in the last two seasons and maintain the sequence of achievements in front of the fans of Ponta Grossa.

How does the downgrade work in Paranaense 2027?

The regulation also establishes a specific dispute to define the clubs relegated to the second division of the Paranaense Championship.

The last two of each group, totaling four teams, will participate in the so-called descent tournament.

The matches will be defined according to the general classification of the first phase, involving the 9th placed against the 12th and the 10th against the 11th.

The losers of these two clashes will be relegated to the state second division.

With the groups and format established, the expectation is now for the release of the detailed table of matches, with the opponents, dates and venues of the Operário Ferroviário games in the 2027 edition.
