Canta PG will hold its first edition this Thursday (8) at 8 pm, at Cine-Teatro Ópera, in Ponta Grossa. Promoted by the Martins Alves Drama-Musical Conservatory Maestro Paulino, the concert will bring together different groups and choral singing projects maintained by the Municipal Secretariat of Culture. The entrance will be a pack of bullets, which will be destined to the collection action linked to the event.

With a repertoire especially aimed at children, in anticipation of the celebrations of Children’s Day, the event will put on the same stage singers of different ages and musical formation trajectories.

Different generations on the same stage

Participate in the first edition of Canta PG the Choral of the Conservatory, the Youth Choral of the Conservatory, the Meninas Cantoras de Ponta Grossa, the Satellite Chorals, the Vocal Group of the Conservatory and the Stable Body Coro Cidade de Ponta Grossa.

The presentation will bring together children, adolescents, young people and adults, showing the public part of the diversity of the projects developed in the choral singing area in the municipality.

In addition to the show, the proposal is to promote an approach between the groups, allowing the exchange of experiences between different generations of singers and expanding the contact of the population with the activities developed by the Conservatory.

Incentive to choral singing on Ponta Grossa

The Canta PG integrates a set of initiatives of the Conservatory aimed at strengthening the choral singing in the city. The work involves the resumption of traditional groups, the creation of new projects and the expansion of musical training opportunities offered for different age groups.

Among the recent actions is the resumption of the Conservatory Choir, which returned to activities after a long period, as well as the creation of the Youth Choir and the strengthening of other groups linked to the institution.

For the municipal secretary of Culture, Alberto Portugal, the presentation also represents an opportunity to show the community the work done by the groups.

“Ponta Grossa has a very important history with choral singing. The Canta PG was born precisely with the purpose of reuniting this tradition with a new generation of singers. They are people of different ages, projects and experiences that occupy the same stage and show that the choral singing is still alive and has a lot of space to grow in our city,” he says.

Event seeks to consolidate in the cultural calendar

The expectation of the Municipal Secretariat of Culture is that the Canta PG will consolidate itself as a permanent initiative to enhance choral singing in Ponta Grossa.

In addition to bringing the public closer to the groups maintained by the Conservatory, the project seeks to stimulate new people to know the musical training activities available in the city.

The first edition takes place at 8 pm this Thursday, at Cine-Teatro Ópera. To accompany the performances, the audience must take a packet of bullets as a ticket.
