Capoeira groups from Ponta Grossa win six first places in Ginga Paraná

The capoeira of Ponta Grossa won six first places in the final stage of the Ginga Paraná, held last weekend in Curitiba. The athletes of the Caminho Certo, Muzenza and Brincapoeira teams represented the municipality in the competition, which brought together capoeiristas from different regions of the state. In addition to the sports results, participation provided a competitive experience to children and adolescents served by social projects.

The representatives of Ponta Grossa participated in the competition accompanied by master Careca, by countermasters Spark and Élcio, as well as teachers Ruly, Josiel, Bugre, Marlon and Pica-Pau.

The presence of the three teams in the final stage marked the joint participation of different groups that develop capoeira activities in the municipality.

Athletes from Ponta Grossa conquer six first places

The end-to-end teams obtained expressive results in the different categories of the state competition.

The Caminho Certo team won two first places and two fourth places. Muzenza secured four first places, two second places, three thirds and two fourth places.

Together, the results of the two teams represent 13 placements in the top four places, including six first place achievements.

The Brincapoeira team also integrated the delegation of Ponta Grossa, participating in the final stage of the Ginga Paraná. The individual results of the athletes in the group were not reported.

Social projects expand opportunities for children in capoeira

For foreman Spark, participation in Ginga Paraná represents an important opportunity for students, especially for children served by social projects.

According to him, the sport has been expanding its presence in the competitive scenario, allowing athletes from different realities to access sports experiences.

“The capoeira has been gaining a very large dimension in the competitive part. For us, from Ponta Grossa, participating in Ginga Paraná is a great milestone, mainly because we were able to take children from a social project, who often would not have this opportunity. We have had good results and this shows the importance of giving space to these students," stressed Spark.

In addition to the contests, the competition allowed the participants to contact athletes from different cities, contributing to the exchange of experiences and the sports development of the students.

Union between teams strengthens capoeira in Ponta Grossa

The councilor and master of capoeira Professor Careca highlighted the importance of the union between the groups and the work developed by the professionals who accompanied the athletes to Curitiba.

"It is very good to see our capoeira growing and our students having the opportunity to participate in a competition like this. We thank the teachers, the foreman and everyone who walks with us. Every athlete who went to Curitiba took a bit of our city and showed the strength that capoeira has in Ponta Grossa," said Careca.

The Ginga Paraná is a competition that brings together capoeira practitioners from different regions of the Paraná in stages held throughout the year.

The final phase took place in Curitiba and included the participation of athletes in different categories.

In addition to the sporting disputes, the event promotes the meeting between groups, teachers, masters and foremasters, providing exchange of experiences and encouraging the practice of the modality.

With six first places won by the Caminho Certo and Muzenza teams, Ponta Grossa ended its participation in the final stage with positive results and the presence of athletes from social projects in the state competition.
