Carlos Bolsonaro begs God for mercy after brother leaves Brazil
Senator left Brazil with family after STF ordered passport delivery; investigation looks into money laundering suspicions
Carlos Bolsonaro (PL), elected senator by Santa Catarina, posted a message on social media after the arrival of his brother, Senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ), to Estados Unidos on Wednesday (28). “May God have mercy on our beloved nation,” he wrote, according to an Earth report.
The demonstration took place amidst the repercussions of Flávio’s departure from Brazil. The parliamentarian had been ordered to hand over his passports to the Federal Police by the determination of Minister Alexandre de Moraes, of Supremo Tribunal Federal (STF).
According to Agência Brasil, Flavio travelled with his wife and daughters. The family crossed the border between Foz do Iguaçu, on Paraná, and Argentina on Tuesday night (27), by the Tancredo Neves International Bridge.

In Argentine territory, he boarded a private aircraft bound for Guayaquil, Ecuador. Then it went to the Estados Unidos. The plane landed on Wednesday morning at Opa-Locka airport in the Miami region.
The determination to hand over the documents was issued as part of an investigation that investigates suspected money laundering involving Flavio and lawyer Willer Tomaz. Both deny irregularities. Before leaving Brazil, the senator had stated in a video posted on social networks that he would remain in the country to organize opposition to the federal government.
