Castro delivers 100 new dental prostheses in a campaign for patients from Jardim Alvorada and the interior
The dental prostheses campaign started in July. Five phases were carried out until the delivery of the prostheses – all on Saturdays.
The City of Castro, through the Department of Health, delivered more than 100 new dentures on Saturday (26). The action concludes the second mutirão of prostheses performed in the municipality in this management.
This time, the initiative was aimed at patients who live in Jardim Alvorada and in the interior of the municipality, attending about 50 people from different regions. The action mobilized teams from the Center of Dental Specialties of Castro (CEO) and Basic Health Units (UBSs), such as dentists, oral health assistants, administrative assistants and cleaning professionals.
The mutirão of dental prostheses began in July. There were five phases until the delivery of the prosthesis – all performed on Saturdays. “These mutirons help reduce the queue for dentures and provide well-being for our population. Congratulations to the whole team,” says Mayor Reinaldo Cardoso.
Dalvidino Mattos, a resident of Socavão, was one of those who participated in the mutirão. “I had consulted the dentist at UBS and was referred here. I've come every time, with round-trip transport. Very good service,” he said.
Reginaldo Bueno, a resident of the town of Campina do Elias, also received the new prosthesis. “The foi bom treatment, I was treated very well,” he says.
Increased production
In a regular month, the CEO produces about 65 dentures. This production was not interrupted during the mutirão. “The production of dental prostheses has been expanded in this period,” emphasizes the technical coordinator of the CEO, Marcelo Nocera. “After delivery, patients will still have an appointment scheduled to make the necessary adjustments,” he says.
The Secretary of Health, Matilvani Moreira, points out that the municipality also made travel available for patients who live far from the urban area. “For those who live in the interior, the Ministry of Health offered free round-trip transportation. We ensure that everyone can participate in the mutirão and receive the new denture,” he says.
New address
The delivery was carried out at the new headquarters of the CEO, in Avenida Dr. Ronie Cardoso, 635, in Jardim Arapongas. The building still houses the Specialty Outpatient and the Physiotherapy and Speech Rehabilitation Center.
