Castro inaugurates new SAE-CTA headquarters and Specialized Pharmacy

The SAE-CTA in Castro and the Specialized Pharmacy began serving in a new headquarters, officially opened on Tuesday (8). The space is next to UBS Vila Rio Branco and received about R$ 70,000 in improvements made by the Municipal Health Secretariat.

According to the Castro City Council, the change seeks to offer a broader, accessible and adequate structure for both patients and the servers responsible for care.

The investment included services of internal and external painting, adaptation of the rooms, replacement of floors, repairs to the electrical network and other maintenance actions.

Until then, the SAE-CTA and the Specialized Pharmacy operated in a property in front of the Square Nossa Senhora of Rosário. According to the Municipality, the growth of services in recent years has caused the previous structure to become small for demand.

Change seeks to improve care

During the inauguration, Mayor Reinaldo Cardoso said that the expansion of activities made it necessary to transfer to a more suitable property.

“The service of SAE-CTA and the Specialized Pharmacy has grown a lot in recent years. With this, it was necessary to move to a more appropriate location to improve the service and working conditions of our employees,” he said.

The Municipal Secretary of Health, Matilvani Moreira, stressed that the change also aims to ensure more privacy and comfort to users.

“With this new structure, the City of Castro and the Department of Health strengthen the assistance provided, offering mais conforto, privacy and humanization in care,” he said.

The Secretary of Government, Ricardo Cardoso Filho, added that the investment integrates the actions of the Municipality aimed at improving the public health structure.

What is SAE-CTA?

The SAE-CTA is a public service specializing in the prevention, testing, diagnosis and follow-up of infecções sexualmente transmissíveis, including HIV and viral hepatitis.

The service also offers follow-up to patients who need specialized care related to these conditions.

Specialized Pharmacy

The Specialized Pharmacy carries out the dispensing of specific medicines made available by the Unified Health System (SUS), including items of the Specialized and Strategic Components of Pharmaceutical Assistance.

The unit also acts in the dispensing of antiretroviral drugs.

With the change, both the Specialized Pharmacy and the SAE-CTA in Castro start working at the new address.

Where is the new headquarters?

The new structure is located in Rua Wenceslau Braz, next to the entrance of UBS Vila Rio Branco, in Castro.
