Castrolanda opens the exhibition 'The Great Tree of Memory' to celebrate 75 years
Inspired by the symbolism of a great tree, the exhibition was created especially to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the cooperative.

Castrolanda Cooperativa Agroindustrial, in Castro, inaugurated on Tuesday (29), the exhibition 'The Great Tree of Memory', created to preserve, in an immersive and sensory way, the trajectory built since the arrival of the first Dutch immigrants in the municipality.
The report of the Portal Boca no Trombone accompanied the inauguration of the site. Inspired by the symbolism of a large tree, the exhibition was created especially to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the cooperative. The space brings together timeline, historical photographs, scenographic elements, tapestry and an audio guide in three languages.
The exhibition site is in Castrolanda Matriz - Praça dos Imigrantes, 03 | Colônia Castrolanda. The exhibition will be open to the public from October 5, with a special focus on schools and companies.

For the architect Rebecca Greidanus, she was challenged to make the space. "It was a kind of project that I had never done, an exhibition, so we started a lot from the premise of how we could go beyond just having information retained in space, how this experience can be immersive, how the visitor can feel part of it and it was from this that we built all this narrative, from the root, the tree, the branches, that are telling the whole story and really participating in it."
For the President of Castrolanda, Willem Bouwman, he spoke a little about the history of the first Dutch immigrants.
"The first immigrants arrived here, then, in 1951, and in fact they were very well received here in Brazil, even we are grateful for the opportunity that Brazil gave to these immigrants. On the other hand, it is also a very big responsibility. So, we had the opportunity to settle here, to organize a community, but also to organize the cooperative, and around the cooperative many people are connected, many associates, their collaborators, their families.
