Central Bank at Sicredi in Castro: representatives visited rural services, partnership with Castrolanda and portfolio exceeding R$ 3 billion

Representatives of the Banco Central at Sicredi in Castro attended a technical visit to the Castrolanda agency on Thursday (1st), to get a closer look at the cooperative’s service model, especially in the crédito rural area. The meeting also highlighted the relationship with producers and the contribution of cooperativism to the development of Campos Gerais.
The delegation of Banco Central from Brazil had Claudio Filgueiras Pacheco Moreira, head of the Department of Regulation, Supervision and Control of Operations of Crédito Rural and Proagro, and João Ferrari Neto, deputy head of Unit of the institution.
Representatives of Centro Administrativo Sicredi and leaders of the cooperative, including President Marcio Zwierewicz and Executive Director Leila Dobis Grik, also participated.
Crédito rural surpasses R$ 3 billion in the region
During the visit, Sicredi presented information about its performance and expansion in the regions served, in addition to the relationship model with people, companies and, mainly, rural producers.
One of the highlights was the portfolio linked to agribusiness, which, according to the cooperative, already exceeds R$ 3 billion in the region alone.
The representatives of Banco Central also knew the field-oriented service structure and the financial solutions offered according to the different needs of rural properties.
Partnership between Sicredi and Castrolanda
Another point presented during the meeting was the inter-cooperation partnership between Sicredi and Cooperativa Castrolanda.
The initiative seeks to bring the cooperative financial institution, the agroindustrial cooperative and producers closer together, facilitating access to credit, guidance and other financial solutions related to agribusiness activities.
The president of Sicredi, Marcio Zwierewicz, said that the integration between the cooperatives contributes to strengthen rural properties and generate development for the entire region.
“The partnership with Castrolanda demonstrates the strength of inter-cooperation, uniting a credit union and an agro-industrial cooperative around the same purpose,” he said.
Banco Central monitors the application of the rules in the field
For Claudio Filgueiras Pacheco Moreira, the approach with financial institutions and producers helps the Banco Central to understand how the standards related to credit work in practice.
According to him, listening to the agents involved allows to evaluate ways to make rural financing more structured and suitable for the growth of Brazilian producers and agribusiness.
João Ferrari Neto also pointed out that visits such as the one held in Castro allow to verify how the rules related to the crédito rural and the Agricultural Activity Guarantee Program (Proagro) reach the producer.
According to Ferrari, direct contact allows to identify aspects that work properly and points that can be improved in the regulation.
The visit to the Castrolanda agency also reinforced the importance of Castro and the Campos Gerais in the agricultural sector and in cooperativism, segments that have a relevant participation in the regional economy.
