Children's Day: purchase intention reaches 65.4% in the Campos Gerais region
Purchase intention rises from 44.7% to 65.4% this year in the Campos Gerais and Guarapuava. The average ticket will be R$ 164.80.

The Children’s Day should lead more consumers to shopping in the Central Region of the Paraná, a cut that covers the Campos Gerais and Guarapuava. The intention to present reached 65.4% this year, compared to 44.7% in 2025, an expressive advance of 20.7 percentage points. The data are from the Purchasing Intention Survey for Children's Day, conducted by the Federation of Trade in Goods, Services and Tourism of Paraná (Fecomércio PR) in partnership with Sebrae/PR.
In Paraná, the willingness to buy gifts also increased, from 48.1% last year to 63.9% this year, up 15.8 percentage points.
For the Business Development coordinator of Fecomércio PR, Rodrigo Schmidt, the expressive increase in the intention to give is accompanied by a consumer more attentive to the budget. “The number of people who will present this year has increased significantly, but there was a retraction in the average ticket. The migration to means of payment at sight (65.5%) and the online price research, done by 74.4% of consumers, evidence a more rational consumer, who avoids the interest of the installment and the indebtedness”, analyzes.
According to Schmidt, this behavior should also guide the strategies of companies for the date. “The success of Paraná retail sales on this date will depend on cost-benefit and quality strategies that dialogue with families willing to give away, but with a still tight budget,” he adds.
“It’s a traditionally strong date for retail and our expectation is of a larger movement in stores, especially in street commerce. The time is to prepare the stocks, offer good conditions and provide an experience that makes the consumer value more and more the local trade”, highlights José Carlos Loureiro Neto, president of Sindilojas Ponta Grossa and Region.
THE THREE MAJOR INTENTIONS TO PRESENT
The Central Region appears among the three largest intentions to give gifts in the state, with 65.4%. South and Southwest lead (77%), followed by Curitiba (68.6%). Following are Northwest (64.7%), West (62.9%), North (61.3%) and East (54.2%).

The largest share of consumers in the region, 37%, intend to buy gifts for two children. Another 18% will buy for one child, 17% for four, 16% for three and 12% for more than four.

MEDIUM TICKET
Contrary to the reduction observed in the state average, the expected value for those present remained stable in the Central Region. The average ticket increased from R$ 163.26 in 2025 to R$ 164.80 this year, up 0.9%. The value is close to the Paraná average, of R$ 171.32.
The modalities in sight gained space among consumers in the Central Region, from 42.2% in 2025 to 68.4% this year. The long-term modalities decreased from 60.9% to 38.8%.
Pix took the lead among payment methods, with 34.7% of the nominations, up from 14.1% last year. The split credit card appears in the sequence (22.4%), followed by the debit card (20.4%), credit card for payment at maturity (17.3%), cash (15.3%) and carnet or credit card (2%).
