The three deaths were confirmed after the work of the rescue teams and the Mobile Emergency Service (Samu). The occurrence was recorded in the Republic of Panama Street, in the Ronda region, near the INSS area.

Earth hits the residence room

According to the information raised so far, Ponta Grossa records heavy rain since Wednesday (9). On the morning of Thursday, an amount of land slipped over part of the residence and mainly hit the room where the residents would be sleeping. The exact circumstances that caused the landslide must still be clarified.

Firefighters were mobilized this morning. Access to the point of occurrence is difficult, with stretches of land and large amounts of mud, which made rescue work even more complex. Firefighters and medical teams worked to care for the victims.

The child was taken alive.

During the first hours of the incident, the information was that two people remained buried while a child had been taken alive and placed in an ambulance for emergency care.

Subsequently, the Samu confirmed that the child went into cardiorespiratory arrest. The medical teams performed resuscitation procedures, but she did not resist. The two adults were also removed without conditions of survival. The tragedy resulted in three deaths.

Rescue mobilized several teams

The operation required extensive mobilization of the Fire Department and the Samu due to the conditions of the ground and the possibility of new land movements. During the work, there was also the record of a wounded firefighter. Initially, no details about the health status of the professional were disclosed.

The incident took place amid a period of heavy rain on Ponta Grossa and mobilized teams throughout the morning of Thursday.
