Decisão favorable a Deltan mantém disputa indefinida para o Senado, by Gleidson Carlos

The Regional Electoral Court decided, by four votes to three, to maintain the candidacy of the former prosecutor of Lava Jato.

Dallagnol was dismissed as a federal deputy by the House in 2023 on charges of leaving the prosecutor’s office before responding to possible disciplinary proceedings.

But despite the cassation, he was not declared ineligible by the TSE. The prosecutor also gave an opinion in favor of his candidacy. But the main point here is not just Deltan.

The decision could have a direct impact on the dispute over the two seats in the Senate in the Paraná, mainly between candidates from the same ideological field, such as Felipi Barros, Cristina Graeml and Alexandre Curi.

Recall that Álvaro Dias gave up the candidacy, when it appeared in the isolated leadership, according to polls of intention of votes, and his departure left the dispute even more open.

Dallagnol, therefore, remains in campaign as one of the most competitive names of the election for the Senate. But the legal battle may not be over yet.
