Defense attorney of Filipe Martins talks about Flávio Bolsonaro's visit and states that the former advisor is calm in Ponta Grossa Public Prison

Filipe Martins’s defense attorney said the former adviser is quiet during the time of serving his sentence in Ponta Grossa’s Public Chain. The statement was made on Saturday (5), after Flávio Bolsonaro’s visit to the site, which gathered supporters, authorities and moved the region.
The BnT Online team followed the movement at the entrance of the prison unit, where people, security forces and members of the political milieu were present.
After the meeting between Flávio Bolsonaro and Filipe Martins, lawyer Jeffrey Chiquini spoke to the report and spoke about the client’s situation within the unit.
Asked about how Filipe Martins was after the arrest, the lawyer said that he makes frequent visits and that the former adviser would be dealing with the situation in a calm way.
“I visit Filipe Martins every week. The Filipe Martins knows how to be a political prisoner, so he’s calm because he knows we’re in a sui generis situation,” Chiquini said.
During the interview, the lawyer also commented on the significance of the presence of Flávio Bolsonaro in the Public Chain of Ponta Grossa. According to him, the visit represents a gesture of support for the political allies of Filipe Martins.
“Today the visit of President Flávio Bolsonaro here is a symbol, it is a symbol for Brazil,” he said.
The agenda of Flávio Bolsonaro on Ponta Grossa was authorized by Supremo Tribunal Federal (STF). The visit took place without electoral character, according to information released by the council, and had as its objective the meeting with Filipe Martins.
In addition to the lawyer, the movement had the presence of political leaders. Among the names present were the mayor of Ponta Grossa, Elizabeth Schmidt, the candidate for the Government of Paraná, Sérgio Moro, the candidate for the Senate Felipe Barros and the candidate for state deputy Ricardo Zampieri.
Filipe Martins is imprisoned in the Public Chain of Ponta Grossa and was sentenced by Supremo Tribunal Federal to 21 years in prison in proceedings related to the attempted coup d’état.
The speech of the defense lawyer of Filipe Martins became the main highlight of the agenda held on Saturday in Ponta Grossa, again placing the case at the center of the national political and legal debate.
