A dog attack resulted in the death of 26 animals in the Domain 69 Chácara, in Ponta Grossa, in Campos Gerais. The episode caused an estimated loss of between R$ 15,000 and R$ 20,000 to those responsible for the space, who now promote a solidarity campaign to recover the lost animals and continue a social and educational project developed in the place.

Among the dead animals are peacocks, geese, turkeys, rabbits and chickens. Other animals have been injured and need veterinary care. According to the person in charge of the farm, some of the birds had a high value, including peacocks valued at approximately R$ 3,5 thousand.

In addition to the financial loss, the loss represents a significant impact on the activities offered to children and groups that visit the property, since contact with animals is one of the main attractions of the space.

Social project serves children and institutions for free

Chácara Domínio 69 began as a space for private use, but began to receive visitors and develop activities aimed at environmental education, social inclusion and contact with nature.

Currently, the place receives private schools, public schools and social institutions. While private visits are charged, groups of nursing homes, foster institutions and projects for blind and visually impaired people are provided free of charge, including food and drinks.

In the case of municipal and state schools, those responsible evaluate the reality of each institution. Depending on the conditions, visits can be free or have a symbolic charge, usually between R$ 5 and R$ 15 per child.

Even when there is a charge, the tour includes food and drinks, with options such as hot dogs and snacks prepared by the staff.

During the activities, children participate in pedagogical walks, learn about the importance of environmental preservation and have the opportunity to interact with animals. The space also offers a children's recreation area, with an inflatable slide and trampolines.

For many children attended, the visit represents one of the first opportunities to meet different species of animals and participate in educational activities in direct contact with nature.

Attack compromises main attraction of the farm

According to the owner, the death of the animals directly compromises the continuity of the project, since they were fundamental to the educational experiences offered to visitors.

In addition to rebuilding the staff, the farm intends to invest in security improvements to prevent further attacks and ensure the protection of surviving animals.

Despite the losses, those responsible say they do not intend to interrupt the social work developed in the property.

Chácara breeds a cow to start over

To overcome the losses, Chácara Domínio 69 launched an online collection campaign. The resources will be used to pay for the treatment of injured animals, acquire new animals, strengthen the safety of the space and expand educational activities.

Donations can be made from R$ 1, through the Pix or the Vakinha platform.

As a form of thanks, the chacara offers a free entry for those who contribute to the campaign. The compliment is valid for 30 days after donation, upon presentation of the voucher, and does not include food or activities charged separately.
