Dog is struck by car in Ponta Grossa and driver flees the scene; see video

A dog was run over in the afternoon of Monday (28), in Avenida Fagundes Varela, in Neves neighborhood, in Ponta Grossa. According to information passed on by residents to BnT Online, the vehicle involved would be a black BYD car. After the crash, the driver would have followed the road without stopping at the scene.

The case happened near number 3975 of Avenida Fagundes Varela. Witnesses reported that they could not see the car’s license plate.

After the collision, the dog remained at the site showing signs of pain. A woman who lives nearby helped the animal and made the referral for veterinary care.

Dog suffered an injury to his leg

According to the information received by the report, the animal suffered an injury to one of the legs. He was taken to the veterinarian for evaluation and care.

The attitude of the resident was fundamental for the dog to receive assistance after the hit.

To date, no information has been disclosed about the exact severity of the injury or the need for other veterinary procedures.

Residents seek to identify vehicle

Residents of the area are now asking for help to identify the driver and clarify the circumstances of the hit.

According to the report sent to BnT Online, there is a municipal monitoring camera in the vicinity of the point where the accident occurred. The images may eventually assist in the identification of the vehicle, if they are requested and available for analysis by the responsible authorities.

Those who have witnessed the hitting or have some image that can contribute to clarify the case can seek the competent organs and pass on the information.

Residents hope that, with the identification of the vehicle, it will be possible to ascertain what happened and evaluate the appropriate measures.
