On Tuesday (20), the dollar fell and closed at R$ 5.01. The stock market surpassed 208 thousand points.

The commercial dollar opened the session on Wednesday (21) quoted at R$ 5.02. The financial market is watching the presidential election, which on today will be released a new Quaest poll among the candidates Lula (PT) and Flávio Bolsonaro (PL), who are competing in the second round.
On Tuesday (20), the US currency fell and closed at R$ 5.01. The stock market has already surpassed 208,000 points. The positive performance of Brazilian assets was driven by the devaluation of the U.S. currency abroad, the flow of foreign investment and the electoral scenario.
In the international market, the drop in oil has also contributed to risk appetite.

Trade dollar: R$ 5,019 (-0.58%);

The commercial dollar closed this Tuesday at R$ 5,019, down 0.58%. This was the third consecutive downside to the real. During the session, the currency came close to R$ 5.00, following the movement of devaluation in the international market.
The DXY index, which measures the performance of the U.S. currency against a basket of six strong currencies, fell about 0.26% in the late afternoon. The fall reflected, among other factors, weaker data from the real estate sector of the Estados Unidos and expectations about the trajectory of US interest rates.
The reduction in yields on Estados Unidos Treasury bonds, known as Treasuries, also contributed to the movement. When these incomes fall, investments in other markets can become relatively more attractive, favoring the entry of resources in emerging countries, such as Brazil.
In the domestic market, the prospect of foreign capital entering the stock exchange helped to sustain the real. The move comes amid investors’ expectations about the unfolding of the presidential dispute, which also influences the perception of risk of Brazilian assets.
