Double accident leaves two dead on BR-369 in Paraná

During the night of Sunday (27), a serious accident at kilometer 94 of BR-369, a stretch that connects the municipalities of Uraí and Cornélio Procópio, resulted in the deaths of two people. The incident involved two separate accidents that unfolded in sequence on the same stretch of the road.

According to information from the Federal Highway Police (PRF), the first collision occurred in the direction of Uraí–Cornélio Procópio. The driver of a 29-year-old JTA Suzuki motorcycle crashed into the rear of a Honda NXR, which was driving in the same direction as the track. Faced with the strong impact of the high speed, the Suzuki driver was thrown into the opposite lane (direction Cornélio Procópio–Uraí) and ended up being run over by an automobile that was following in the opposite flow and was unable to deviate from the body projected onto the lane.

The motorcyclist died on the spot. There is suspicion that he was participating in a crack at the time of the collision.

The second accident was caused by the slowdown in traffic in the region. With vehicles restrained on the track, the driver of a 53-year-old VW Saveiro, who was driving in the direction of Cornélio Procópio-Uraí, failed to brake in time when he came across the stop and collided with the rear of a truck. The impact was fatal and the driver also died at the scene.

Teams

Due to the severity and complexity of the accidents, a large operation mobilized the Fire Department, the Mobile Emergency Service (SAMU), the Military Police (PM) and rescue and support teams of the concessionaire responsible for the stretch. The Civil Police, the Technical Expertise and the Medical-Legal Institute (IML) also attended the place for the expert surveys and the collection of the bodies.

The Federal Road Police (PRF) will be responsible for the preparation of the expert report of the traffic accident.
