Double arrested for beating man to death in Ponta Grossa
According to the investigations, the victim was beaten to death by a group.
The Civil Police of Ponta Grossa arrested two men investigating the murder of Roberto Carlos Barbosa on Wednesday afternoon.
The crime occurred on the night of November 29, 2024, at around 7:57 p.m., in Rua Antônio Franke, in the Chapada neighborhood. According to investigations, the victim was brutally beaten to death by a group of individuals.
The attackers reportedly went to Roberto’s home to demand that he apologize to a third person for a previous disagreement. Faced with refusal, he was dragged out of the residence and beaten with repeated punches and kicks on the head, with no chance of defense.
The identification of the two investigators was the result of intense research work. One of them was wearing an anklet on the day of the crime, and geolocation data proved that he was at the scene and time of the murder. Soon after the crime, he broke the equipment to try to escape responsibility.
The second suspect has been identified through due diligence. He was already in prison for other crimes and had a new pre-trial warrant served. On his cellphone, the Civil Police found messages in which he commented on the murder and a photo taken shortly after the crime in which he appears with his foot dirty with blood.
During the investigation, PCPR found that one of the detainees is also alleged to have committed another murder. On December 23, 2024, he allegedly stabbed Juliano Padilha da Silva Cordeiro.
In the face of the seriousness and criminal repetition, the Civil Police represented the preventive detention of the two, which was complied with by the Justice.
