Douglas Ruas and Eduardo Paes compete in the second round for Rio's governorship
Ruas finished the count in first place, with 49.27% of valid votes

Douglas Ruas (PL) and Eduardo Paes (PSD) will play the second round of the election for governor of Rio de Janeiro. The two candidates were the most voted in the first round, held on Sunday (4), according to data from the Superior Electoral Court (TSE).
Streets finished the count in first place, with 49.27% of the valid votes, or 4,268,884 votes. Paes came second with 42.76%, equivalent to 3,704,372 votes.
By 9:32 p.m., 99.95% of the ballot boxes had been counted.
As none of the candidates obtained more than half of the valid votes, the election for governor of Rio de Janeiro will be decided in a second round, scheduled for October 25.
The other candidates obtained:
Boy (Republicans): 3.17%
William Siri (PSOL): 2.71%,
Colonel Busnello (Mission): 0.98%
André Marinho (New): 0.52%
Juliet (UP): 0.39%
Cyro Garcia (PSTU): 0.17%
Luan Monteiro (PCO)
The above result will still be ratified by TSE itself: if the court decides to invalidate the votes of Garotinho, Ruas will win in the first round.
