Driver case that was allegedly kidnapped gets new development in PG
Driver, who is a resident of Jardim Carvalho, was approached by the Military Police in the Santa Luzia region. The case initially treated as a possible kidnapping is also under investigation as a possible extortion.
An incident involving an app driver in Ponta Grossa mobilized the Military Police during the early hours of Tuesday, after his partner received messages informing that he had been kidnapped. The alleged criminals sent a photograph of the man in a forest region and demanded R$ 2,000 to release him.
The case, initially treated as a possible abduction, gained new developments after the driver was approached by the Military Police in the Santa Luzia neighborhood, near Souza Naves Avenue. The man is a resident of the Jardim Carvalho and used a grey Renault Logan, a vehicle that was identified during the attendance of the occurrence.
The circumstances of the messages sent to the driver’s companion and the possibility of a crime of extortion are among the points that need to be clarified by the investigation.
Understand how the possible kidnapping began
The incident began after the driver’s companion received messages during the early hours informing him that he was in the hands of criminals. The authors of the communication forwarded a photograph in which the man appeared in a region of forest. In addition to the image, he was required to pay R $ 2,000 for him to be released.
In response to the situation, the Military Police began the procedures to locate the driver. The vehicle used by him was inserted into an alert system, while intelligence and support teams were mobilized to assist in the searches and identify the possible involved.

The car he used, a grey Renault Logan, was also identified. The clarification of the case depends on the analysis of the elements gathered by the police teams, including the messages sent to the driver's companion, the photograph sent during the early morning hours and the circumstances in which the man was approached.
