Driver dies after head-on collision on BR-153 in Tibagi

A 58-year-old driver died in a head-on collision on Sunday night in Tibagi. The accident happened around 9:10 p.m., at kilometer 241 of BR-153.

According to preliminary surveys by the Federal Highway Police (PRF), a Fiat Palio with Ponta Grossa plates, which was going in the opposite direction, broke into the opposite lane and collided in front with a cart loaded with madeirite, with General Carneiro plate, which was going in the Tibagi direction.

The driver of the Palio, who was not wearing a seat belt, did not resist the injuries and died at the scene. The driver of the wagon was not injured. He underwent a breathalyzer test, with a negative result for alcohol intake.

Despite the severity of the accident, there was no need to ban the track.
