Driver distracted by cell phone hits car into pole in PG
Driver loses control of car after distraction with cell phone and hits pole in Uvaranas, on Avenida General Carlos Cavalcanti
A traffic accident in the Uvaranas region on Ponta Grossa ended with the collision of a Volkswagen Polo vehicle against a pole on Avenida General Carlos Cavalcanti on Friday night (18). The incident was recorded around 21:45 and mobilized a team of patrulhamento viário for on-site care.
According to the information passed on to the officers, the driver of the VW/Polo vehicle reported that she ended up distracted while using her cell phone. With this, he lost control of the steering, was unable to perform the braking in time and hit a post located on the banks of the avenue.
Despite the material damage to the vehicle and the structure affected, the accident left no casualties. The driver had no injuries and refused medical attention after the evaluation carried out on site.
During the care, the agents offered the driver to perform the ethylometer test, a procedure used to verify the presence of alcohol in the body. The test presented a negative result for alcohol intake.
After the registration of the occurrence, the responsible team prepared the occurrence bulletin referring to the case. Administrative measures related to damage caused to the post should be taken subsequently, in accordance with the procedures provided for.
The accident was recorded without casualties, but resulted in damage to the vehicle and the post hit during the collision.
