Driver runs red light, nearly causes accident and ends up arrested in Ponta Grossa
Drunk driver in Ponta Grossa was arrested after running a red light and driving in zigzag. Breathalyzer showed 0.75 mg/L.
A drunk driver was arrested last night after advancing a red light, nearly provoking an accident and being caught driving in zigzag in the central region at Ponta Grossa. According to the report of the occurrence, the ethylometer test showed 0.75 mg/L of alcohol per liter of alveolar air.
The situation was recorded around 23:20, during an action by patrulhamento viário. The team was circulating through the central region when they visualized a Volkswagen Gol advancing the red light at the intersection of Avenida Visconde de Taunay with Avenida Dr. Vicente Machado.
According to the information of the occurrence, the maneuver almost resulted in a collision with another vehicle passing through the intersection. Gol then reportedly left the scene at high speed, drawing the attention of the agents.
Vehicle was located in zigzag
Faced with the situation, the team made the return to the court to try to locate the car. Soon after, the vehicle was again seen near the intersection of Avenida Visconde de Taunay with Rua República do Panamá, still in the central region of Ponta Grossa.
According to the report, Gol was zigzagging. The team determined the stop and the order of approach was met by the driver.
During the contact, the agents reported having perceived visible signs of possible drunkenness. Several cans of beer were also found scattered around the interior of the car.
Ethylmeter pointed at 0.75 mg/L
The driver was subjected to the ethylometer test. The equipment recorded 0.75 mg/L of alcohol per liter of alveolar air, as stated in the report of the occurrence.
Given the result presented and the circumstances verified during the approach, the driver received a voice of arrest.
The man was referred to the 13th Police Subdivision (13th SDP) of Ponta Grossa, where the appropriate measures were adopted. According to the record, there was resistance during the referral procedure.
Despite the risk caused by the driving of the vehicle and the report that a collision almost occurred at the first crossing, there were no casualties.
The occurrence draws attention mainly by the sequence recorded moments before the approach: red signal advance, high speed and zigzag driving. The case was the responsibility of the competent authorities for subsequent proceedings.
