Driver seriously injured in head-on collision on BR-376 in Ortigueira

On Sunday afternoon, a runway exit followed by a frontal collision left a driver seriously injured at Ortigueira. The accident happened at kilometer 335 of the BR-376.

According to information from the Federal Highway Police (PRF), a BMW model vehicle lost control as it crossed a corner, broke into the opposite lane and collided frontally with a combination of cargo vehicles (carriage) that traveled in the opposite direction.

During the inspection inside the car, the police team located consumed alcoholic beverage containers.

The BMW driver suffered serious injuries and was rescued and taken to a hospital in the municipality of Telêmaco Borba. The driver of the cargo vehicle suffered no injuries.

Traffic remained in the system stop and follow until the vehicles are removed.
