Drunk Driver in Ponta Grossa Arrested After Driving in Zigzag and Registering 0.68 mg/L on Breathalyzer Test

A drunk driver in Ponta Grossa was arrested early Thursday after being approached by a team of patrulhamento viário in the central region of the city. The ethylometer test showed 0.68 milligrams of alcohol per liter of alveolar air. The incident was recorded at about 2:20 a.m., in Rua Balduíno Taques.
According to the report of the team responsible for the approach, the agents were patrolling the region when they noticed a Chevrolet Corsa traveling in a zigzag. The vehicle was also running with problems in lighting the headlights.
In response to the situation, the team ordered the driver to stop the car for a preventive approach.
Driver showed signs of alcohol intake
During the inspection, it was found that the man possessed a driving license. However, according to the report of the occurrence, he presented red eyes, difficulty in communicating with the agents and strong ethyl odor.
The driver was then invited to perform the ethylometer test and accepted the procedure.
The equipment recorded 0.68 mg/L of alcohol per liter of alveolar air, a result that led to the arrest of the driver.
After the test, he received a voice of imprisonment and was referred to the 4th Regional Flagrants Centre of Ponta Grossa, where the police authority was in charge of the procedures related to the occurrence.
According to the team, there was no need to use force or handcuffs during the man's driving.
The vehicle was released
The Chevrolet Corsa did not need to be collected. According to the record, the car was handed over to another duly licensed driver.
Infringement documents related to the irregularities found during the approach were also prepared.
The case occurred during a patrol and surveillance action aimed at combating traffic crimes in the central region of Ponta Grossa.
