Drunk Driver in Ponta Grossa Flees Pursuit, Covers About 10 Blocks and Is Arrested After Test Shows 0.78 mg/L
A drunk driver in Ponta Grossa was arrested after fleeing an approach from Traffic and Road Safety agents and driving about 10 blocks at high speed on Monday (28). According to the report of the occurrence, the ethylometer test pointed to 0.78 mg/L of alcohol per liter of alveolar air.
The incident began around 12:15, when a team was performing patrulhamento viário in the region of the intersection of Bernardo de Vasconcelos and Octávio de Carvalho streets. Officers were on site due to a recent change in the direction of movement of one of the roads.
According to the official report, a Ford Ka went against the grain on Rua Bernardo de Vasconcelos. The officers gave a stop order to guide the driver on the change in traffic, but the driver would have accelerated and left the site without obeying the determination.
Driver walked about 10 blocks
Before the leak, the agents began the monitoring using the sound and light signals of the vehicle.
During the journey, the driver entered Avenida Antônio Rodrigues Teixeira Júnior without respecting the preference of the road and continued at high speed. The conduct, according to the team, put pedestrians and other vehicles that circulated in the region at risk.
The follow-up extended for approximately 10 blocks until the car was boarded in the Alfredo Guimarães Vilela street region.

During the approach, the agents reported that the driver presented signs compatible with alcohol intake, including strong ethyl odor and difficulty in balancing.
The ethylometer test was offered to the driver and, according to the report, he agreed to perform it. The recorded result was 0.78 mg/L of alcohol per liter of alveolar air.
The system consultation also indicated, as informed by the officers, that the driver did not have a driving license. The vehicle was regularized.
In view of the situation, the actions provided for in the Brazilian Traffic Code related to the infractions found during the occurrence were carried out.
The car was handed over to a suitably qualified person.
The driver was taken to the flagrante plant.
After the result of the test and the other findings made during the approach, the driver received a voice of arrest and was referred to the Flagrantes Center of Ponta Grossa, where the appropriate procedures were adopted.
