Elections 2026: deadline for rallies and electoral campaigning ends this Thursday (22)
Elections 2026: deadline for rallies and electoral campaigning ends this Thursday (22). Check the rules for the second round.

The election campaign for the second round of the 2026 elections enters the final straight on Thursday (22). The date marks the closure of the deadline for the holding of rallies and certain campaign activities, in addition to the last day allowed for the circulation of paid or boosted electoral propaganda on the internet.
The restrictions are part of the electoral calendar and precede the vote next Sunday (25), when millions of Brazilians will return to the polls to choose the next president of the Republic.
Election advertising on the Internet will have new restrictions
In addition to the closure of the deadline for rallies, the Justiça Eleitoral establishes specific rules for the use of digital content during the last days before the vote.
From Thursday (22) until 24 hours after the close of the second round, the publication or republication of new content produced or modified by artificial intelligence or similar technologies that use images, voices or demonstrations of candidates and public people is prohibited.
The measure seeks to strengthen the security of information circulating during the decisive period of the elections and reduce the risks of manipulation of content involving public figures.
TSE may release guidance until Saturday (24)
Even with the closure of certain campaign activities, the Superior Electoral Court (TSE) may continue to release official statements, newsletters and guidance to voters until Saturday (24).
To do so, the Justiça Eleitoral can request up to ten minutes of daily programming from radio and television stations. Part of this period may also be allocated to the Regional Electoral Tribunals (TREs).
The information will aim to guide the population on the voting procedures and ensure that citizens are prepared to participate in the second round.
The second round of the 2026 elections will be on Sunday (25)
The Brazilians will return to the polls next Sunday, October 25, to choose the president of the Republic. The vote will take place from 8 am to 5 pm, by the time of Brasilia.
In addition to the presidential contest, voters from six units of the Federation will also choose their governors: Acre, Amazonas, Distrito Federal, Espírito Santo, Rio Grande do Norte and Tocantins.
In these places, the vote will be held first for governor and then for president.
Six other Brazilian municipalities will have additional elections for mayor. In these cities, voters must first vote for president and then for mayor.
Voters of Ponta Grossa should check polling place
In Ponta Grossa and in the other municipalities of Paraná, the voters will participate in the second round for the election of the President of the Republic.
The Justiça Eleitoral recommends that citizens consult their polling places and polling stations in advance, avoiding unforeseen events on Sunday.
The consultation can be carried out through the official website of the Superior Electoral Court or through the e-Title application.
It is also allowed to carry a paper annotation with the number of the chosen candidate, known as an electoral roll. However, the use of mobile phones inside the voting booth is prohibited.
With the closure of important stages of the electoral campaign, attention is turned to the second round, which will define the command of the country for the next four years.
