Elections 2026 may replace 8 councilors in Ponta Grossa; see the substitutes

This year’s 2026 Elections could bring about a significant change in the composition of the Câmara Municipal. Eight parliamentarians currently in office are vying for a seat in the Legislative Assembly of Paraná (Aleppo) or the Chamber of Deputies. With this, the alternates of the councilors of Ponta Grossa enter the radar if the holders are elected and leave the municipal legislature.

Of the eight candidate councilors, seven run for the position of state deputy and one seeks a vacancy of federal deputy.

The survey considers the current composition of the House and the party plates by which the parliamentarians were elected in the municipal elections of 2024. This is important because, in order to define who occupies an eventual position, the list of alternates corresponding to the legend or federation responsible for the conquest of that seat must be observed.

See who can leave the Chamber and who is in substitution

Pastor Ezequiel contests a federal deputy seat. He was elected a councilor in 2024 by DC. If he is elected and leaves the municipal legislature to take over in Brasilia, the first name in the line of succession is Alexi Hajer, who received 1,799 votes in the municipal elections.

Júlio Kuller is a candidate for state deputy. Although currently in the PL, Kuller won the mandate of councillor in 2024 by the MDB. In this case, the first alternate is Comandante Macedo, who received 1,523 votes.

Maurício Silva, elected by the PSD, also contests a seat in the Legislative Assembly. The first alternate in the legend is Daniel Milla, which won 1,845 votes in 2024.

Geraldo Stocco runs for state deputy and was elected councilor by the Brazilian Federation of Hope, formed by PT, PV and PCdoB. The first alternate is Professor Carmen, from the PV, who received 1,464 votes.

Ricardo Zampieri is also competing for a seat in Aleppo. He was elected by the PL and has as his first substitute Izaías Salustiano, who received 1,769 votes.

Guilherme Mazer is another councillor candidate for state deputy. Like Stocco, Mazer won the mandate for the Brazilian Federation of Hope. Therefore, the two share the same relationship of substitutes.

Teka dos Animais is vying for a seat as a state deputy. Elected by União Brasil, she has Samuel Moreira, who received 451 votes, in the first position of the surrogacy of the legend.

Nurse Marisleidy completes the list of candidate councilors. She contests a state deputy seat and was elected councilor by the PMB. The first alternate is Baixinho da Dalabona, who received 1,211 votes.

Stocco and Mazer have the same list of substitutes

One of the most interesting scenarios involves Geraldo Stocco and Guilherme Mazer. The two were elected by the same party federation in 2024.

Thus, if only one of them leaves the Chamber, the first alternate of the federation is Professor Carmen. If the two leave their municipal mandates, the succession would also advance to the next name enabled in the list. In the 2024 vote, Gerveson Tramontin, of the PT, appears next, with 1,108 votes.

Thus, in a scenario in which Stocco and Mazer were elected deputies and both left the House, Professor Carmen and Gerveson Tramontin could occupy the two seats.

Change of party does not change the origin of the vacancy

The cases of Pastor Ezequiel and Júlio Kuller deserve attention because the councillors changed their party after the municipal elections.

Ezekiel was elected councillor by the DC in 2024, while Kuller won his term by the MDB. Therefore, for the definition of the respective alternates, it is necessary to consider the plates responsible for the election of the parliamentarians in that poll, and not simply the parties for which they dispute the 2026 elections.

This is precisely why Alexi Hajer appears in the line of succession of Ezekiel, while Commander Macedo appears in the line of Kuller.

Camera can have up to eight changes

If all eight candidate councilors are elected and subsequently leave their municipal mandates to assume the positions of deputy, the House of Ponta Grossa could undergo a wide renewal during the current legislature.

In this scenario, considering the order of the 2024 supplency lists, they could reach the Municipal Legislative Alexi Hajer, Comandante Macedo, Daniel Milla, Professor Carmen, Izaías Salustiano, Gerveson Tramontin, Samuel Moreira and Baixinho da Dalabona.

Entry, however, is not automatic just by winning the ballot box. The councilors remain in municipal positions during the electoral period and any change in the House will depend on the actual departure of the holder to assume the new mandate, in addition to the legal and partisan situation existing at the time of the summons of the alternate.

General elections take place in October, while elected deputies take office in February 2027.
