The Social Welfare Foundation of Ponta Grossa (FASPG) holds, on Friday (25th), the ExpoAraucarias 60+, an artistic exhibition that celebrates the 203 years of Ponta Grossa and values the talent of elderly people served by the Center for Coexistence (Cecon) New Russia. The event takes place from 14h to 17h, in the lobby of the FASPG, with free entry.
The exhibition brings together 16 paintings produced by participants of the painting workshops led by the plastic artist Marco Antonio de Matos Hansen. The works were inspired by the Araucaria, trees that are part of the landscape and cultural identity of Ponta Grossa.
Through colors and shapes, participants express their memories, experiences and emotional connections with the municipality, transforming personal stories into artistic manifestations.
Art values the stories and experiences of the elderly
FASPG President Tatyana Belo highlights that the exhibition represents an opportunity to recognize the talent and trajectory of people who have contributed to the construction of the city’s history.
"The ExpoAraucarias 60+ shows that art has no age. Each frame carries the story and emotional memory of who lived and built Ponta Grossa. It is a way to give voice and visibility to these new artists, celebrating their talent on the anniversary of our city,” he says.
In addition to presenting the works developed in the workshops, the initiative seeks to encourage artistic expression, strengthen social bonds and expand the participation of elderly people in the cultural activities of the municipality.
The exhibition also reinforces the importance of living spaces that provide opportunities for learning, creativity and recognition for the population over 60.
ExpoAraucarias 60+ integrates the FASPG actions aimed at promoting active ageing and valuing the prominence of the elderly in Ponta Grossa.

The population will be able to prestige free of charge the works produced by the participants of Cecon New Russia during the vernissage, which will be held on Friday (25).
