Family asks for help to get vascular treatment for woman with leg ulcer in Ponta Grossa
Family demands vascular surgery in Ponta Grossa for patient with leg ulcer and asks for action due to worsening condition

The family of a resident of the Vilela region, in Ponta Grossa, sought the BnT Portal on Saturday (10) to ask for help in the search for vascular surgery. According to family members, the patient faces a serious wound in the left leg, has already undergone care in health units and in the UPA and is now awaiting a specialized evaluation due to the fear of aggravation of the condition.
The patient is Marcolina Drygla. As reported by a niece to the BnT, she has been seeking care for several days and even received medications intravenously in the Unit of Pronto Atendimento. However, according to the family, the problem has continued to evolve.
In view of the situation, the relatives say that they have mobilized to pay for a private consultation with a doctor in the vascular area. According to the report sent to the report, the professional would have warned that the situation requires speed and that the worsening of the condition can bring serious consequences for the affected member.
Documents point to the need for urgent evaluation
The documents presented by the family reinforce the existence of a situation that requires specialized medical follow-up.
In referral carried out at the end of September, there is a request for urgent care for vascular surgery due to an arterial ulcer in the lower left limb, in addition to the information that the patient has risk factors.
Another medical document, dated September 30, refers the patient to a Pronto Atendimento Unit and records extensive erysipelas in the lower limbs and infected ulcers in the lower left limb. The document also reports that the patient has type 2 diabetes mellitus and reports an unfavorable evolution of the infectious condition.
According to the referral, at that time an emergency evaluation was considered necessary, including the definition of the continuity of treatment with intravenous medication.
Family Reports Difficulty Getting a Specialist
The niece says that the patient has already sought different services from the public network, but the family continues to try to make it possible to attend to a vascular specialist.
“She is no longer able to walk straight. We were able to pay for a private consultation because we didn’t know who to turn to anymore,” the family member told BnT.
According to the family, the patient performs dressings in the Health Unit Julio Azevedo, but relatives complain of the delay in defining specialized care.
The relatives also report that they sought guidance from the Public Prosecutor’s Office in the face of the difficulty of referring the case.
The family claims not to have the financial conditions to pay for a possible vascular surgery in the particular network.
Family appeals to authorities
Given the situation, the family members ask that the Municipal Health Foundation and the other responsible bodies analyze the case and inform what measures can be taken to ensure the necessary care.
The main concern is that the condition worsens while the patient awaits specialized evaluation.
The BnT Portal will follow the case and sought the positioning of Prefeitura de Ponta Grossa and the Municipal Health Foundation to know what is the situation of the referral, what care has already been available to the patient and what measures can be taken in the face of the medical recommendations presented by the family.
Once there is an official return, the report will be updated.
