Family from Ponta Grossa organizes bazaars to help with treatment of 11-year-old girl

A mobilization seeks help for Raissa in Ponta Grossa, an 11-year-old girl who lives with her family in the Imperial Garden and performs continuous treatment after diagnosis of cerebral palsy with motor impairment. The mother of the child promotes bazaars, raffles and receives donations to be able to maintain the physiotherapy sessions and to finance the necessary examinations.

According to the family, Raissa presents commitment of the motor part and uses walkers and crutches to get around. The girl performs physiotherapy sessions at home and, according to the mother's report, the treatment has presented important results in its evolution.

The main concern of the family, however, is to be able to maintain the continuity of care.

Mother performs bazaars and raffles

To be able to afford the expenses, Raissa’s mother performs bazaars, raffles and other solidarity actions. Donations of clothes and footwear in good condition are also received, which are subsequently used in the bazaar to raise resources destined for treatment.

The family reports that the costs are constant and that, in addition to the physiotherapy sessions, Raissa needs to undergo examinations that also represent new expenses.

The mother says she is worried about the possibility of not being able to maintain all the necessary care for her daughter.

According to the report released by the family, the guidance received is for Raissa not to interrupt physiotherapy sessions, since continuous follow-up is considered important to preserve and extend the motor advances obtained so far.

Dream of walking alone

Despite the difficulties faced in the day to day, the family describes Raissa as a determined girl full of dreams. One of the greatest desires of the child is to be able to walk alone. Raissa also dreams of being a dancer.

Currently, she is able to move with the help of walkers and crutches and continues to perform the exercises and recommended care.

The campaign seeks to ensure that the girl can continue to receive physiotherapy, perform the necessary examinations and have access to resources that contribute to her quality of life and independence.

The family maintains a bazaar in the Imperial Garden and receives donations of clothes and footwear in good condition.

The service takes place daily, from 10 am to 5 pm, in Rua Luiz Carlos de Almeida, 62, in Ponta Grossa.
